Construction site chaos in Schleswig-Holstein: where you can expect traffic jams today!
There's a lot going on on the streets in Schleswig-Holstein, and it's not always for the best. Construction sites and road closures are currently shaping the picture of the transport infrastructure. The total length of the road network in this country, which covers an impressive 9,874 kilometers, is both a great advantage and a challenge for road users. Current information on this is available via various channels, including kn-online.de, where the most important construction sites and temporary closures are listed.
Let's start with the motorways: There are currently numerous diversions on the A1. Nightly construction work will take place between Reinfeld and the Lübeck motorway junction until June 29th, while traffic between Eutin and Scharbeutz will be rerouted until the end of 2025. The two-lane traffic routing in the area of the Bargteheide motorway junction will also last until December 2025. Road renovations between Sereetz and Pansdorf are also planned by the end of the year.

Those interested can find out more about construction sites and traffic flow at verkehrslage.de and try to find the best diversions.
Traffic updates and forecasts
If you don't want to end up in a traffic jam, you should also use the offers from ADAC Maps. This platform shows traffic flow in real time and provides a forecast for specific departure days and times. The ADAC service offers more detailed information about the current traffic situation and planned construction sites, but also about possible dangerous situations such as slippery snow or aquaplaning.
On the way to work, to appointments or during your free time, it is advisable to regularly inform yourself about the current situation. For Schleswig-Holstein this means: Keep your eyes open when it comes to traffic flow, because the construction sites and closures could easily lead to undesirable delays!
