Büsumer Volkslauf 2025: 524 participants enjoy the summer running feeling!

The 33rd Büsumer Volkslauf, organized by TSV Büsum, attracted a total of 524 running enthusiasts on July 11, 2025 in bright summer weather with mild temperatures and light wind. The scenery on the North Sea was magnificent and the participants were even able to refresh themselves in the outgoing tide during the race.

Several running disciplines were offered, and the little athletes didn't miss out either. The Bambino run over 400 meters had 23 participants, which was a great opportunity for the little ones to take their first steps in competition. The taller runners had the choice between the 5.3 kilometer health run, in which 277 participants took part, the 10 kilometer competition run with 201 entries, and Nordic walking, in which 23 participants took part.

Club championship in health and competitive running

The award ceremonies produced exciting results. In the health run, Miguel Molero-Eichwein won the men's race with a time of 17:55 minutes, while Emma Sophie Möller triumphed in the women's race with 20:15 minutes. In the 10 kilometer competition run, Claudius Michalak distanced the competition in 33:45 minutes and Karina Hansen took first place among the women with a time of 43:54 minutes. There was also a hard fight in Nordic walking: Bryan Worina beat the other participants with a time of 36:41 minutes, while Dörthe Bölter was victorious in 38:41 minutes.

The participants' achievements flow into the Dithmarschen Cup, which consists of eleven different running events. This cup is very popular, as the almost 3,500 runners in the 2023 evaluation lists show. The conclusion of the Dithmarschen Cup took place recently and the winners were Anke Rohwer and Paul Volkmann with 200 points, followed by Katja Timm and Mone Marktscheffel..

Preparation and support before and after the run

The organization of the event was praised from all sides, especially the Büsum church team showed an impressive team performance with uniform shirts. The participants also rated the care during and after the race as exemplary. Changing and shower facilities provided by 'Meerzeit' ensured a pleasant post-race experience. TSV chairwoman Heike Dorn particularly thanked the volunteers who made the event possible and emphasized how important their commitment is to ensuring it runs smoothly.

A sustainable aspect of this run was also the integration of an internationally validated questionnaire on health care, which was developed by the Humboldt University of Berlin. The German Athletics Association would like running events to integrate this questionnaire into their registration process in order to increase awareness of preventive health care..

Overall, the 33rd Büsumer Volkslauf was a great success and leaves a lot of anticipation for the next running events in the region.
