Summer concerts and harbor festival: music, enjoyment and fun in Berkenthin!

Things get really musical in Berkenthin in summer! The cultural committee has put together an exciting program with concerts at the canal lock. How herzogtum-direkt.de reported, the concerts start on Fridays at 7:30 p.m. and admission is free. So that visitors can relax, a donation hat will be passed around at the end of the events. A tip for all concert goers: you should definitely bring seating and the ingredients for a delicious picnic. A small range of drinks is also planned at cost price. Please note that the concerts are canceled if it rains.

All summer concerts and the accompanying harbor festival are part of the “Cultural Summer on the Canal”, which is supported and promoted by the Duchy of Lauenburg Foundation berkenthin.de. What's special: In the idyllic setting on the canal, there is music for every taste. On July 4th, 2025 we can look forward to Esther Jung and Lukas Kowalski, who with 50 years of stage experience have a lot of rock and pop music under their belt.

Concert series in summer

But that's just the beginning! It continues on July 11th with Farhad Heet and Robbie Smith, who will conquer the hearts of the audience with their unique guitar and vocal performance. On July 18th the band “Mission Aura” will perform and bring a fascinating fusion of vintage blues rock, soul, funk and country. The concert series concludes on July 25th with the Lübeck duo “HIT-SKIP”, which will create a great atmosphere with oldies, hits and current hits.

These events are not only a treat for music lovers, but also an opportunity to experience local culture up close. The numerous visitors can look forward to a relaxed atmosphere in which social interaction is also very important.

The harbor festival is a highlight

The highlight of the cultural summer program is the harbor festival on July 27, 2025. An open air service will be celebrated from 10 a.m., followed by the official opening at 12 p.m. The first dancers, the “Line Dancers” and “Black and White Dancers”, will show their skills from 12.30 p.m., followed by the shanty choir “Schaalseejungs” at 1 p.m. In between there is a lot of culinary delights and an exciting children's program that will captivate both the little ones and the adults. In particular, Lukas Kowalski and Stephen Kavanagh will provide musical entertainment at 3 p.m.
