Young farmers take responsibility: seminar in Plön inspires!
What is happening among rural youth? On the third weekend in October, the remarkable seminar “Landjugend.leben.lernen” (La.le.le.) took place in Plön, Schleswig-Holstein. This event, which was organized by bauernblatt.com, brought together eleven rural youth members from all over Schleswig-Holstein. The aim of this meeting was to complete the first of two parts to qualify for the Youth Leader Card (JuLeiCa).
How did the seminar begin? After eating together and getting to know each other, the participants started with an introduction to JuLeiCa, which offers numerous advantages, such as special leave for voluntary work. The content of the seminar not only included preparation for voluntary tasks, but also working with children, teenagers and young adults. Particular attention was paid to the topics of group formation and communication.
Insights into the program
On Friday, the participants developed group rules and took part in games that helped them better assess the general conditions in groups. An exciting warm-up on Saturday with the “chicken coop game” created a good atmosphere. The discussion about development stages in different age groups was also an important part of the program, as was group pedagogy, which addressed roles and phases in groups.
Public relations was another item on the agenda: the presentation of rural youth and the use of social media were discussed in detail. A letter to themselves helped participants reflect on their experiences. The topic of alcohol prevention was also not neglected in order to underline the importance of a responsible lifestyle.
An exciting weekend comes to an end
On Sunday the program included planning celebrations and developing creative ideas. During the practical exercise, the “party game”, the participants put what they had learned into practice. The seminar ended with a positive feedback session that gave the participants a lot of motivation. The “Bye Tunnel” ritual once again showed the strong community that exists among rural youth.
The next part of the seminar will take place on November 29th and 30th in Steinbergkirche, Schleswig-Flensburg district, and promises to be just as educational and exciting.
In a completely different industry, motor carriers and regulated companies in the US also need to be diligent about keeping their records in order. According to fmcsa.dot.gov, they are required to update their US DOT and operating permit records every two years. Even if there are no changes, this biennial update requirement is important to avoid deactivation of the USDOT number.
So, whether in rural youth or in transport – it is important to take responsibility and always be well informed.
