Hanseatic Tour Sunshine: 150 cyclists cycle for children with cancer!

The Hanse-Tour Sonnenschein, a valued charity bike tour, is entering the next round: On July 17, 2025, the event starts for the 29th time with the aim of collecting donations for children with cancer and chronic illnesses. The atmosphere is already full of anticipation and all cyclists are preparing for the challenges ahead. Around 150 enthusiastic cyclists will set off, led by Economics Minister Claus Ruhe Madsen, who leads the peloton.

The tour will stop in Neumünster on Friday, July 18, 2025. Between 11:55 a.m. and 12:25 p.m. the Großflecken becomes the stage for this important event. The city has to prepare for certain traffic disruptions due to the event, and preparations are in full swing.

A heart for sick children

The Hanse-Tour Sonnenschein has established itself in recent years as a central initiative in supporting families in difficult times. This bike tour not only symbolizes solidarity and joy of life, but also offers financial help for medical treatments. According to the event initiative's website, which Sonnenscheintour.de offers a comprehensive overview of the mission, the focus is on supporting affected families.

This year the event will take place for the first time in Schleswig-Holstein in the Reconnaissance Battalion 6 in Eutin - a new step that underlines the importance of the tour. The Eutiners' motto, “Children, we are not better than the others, we are just different!”, will provide motivation throughout the entire tour. The Bundeswehr is a long-standing partner and supports the tour, which has already helped many children and their families in need.

Strong together for children with cancer

In addition to the Hanseatic Tour, the Team Rynkeby campaign will also be active this weekend, where 274 cycling enthusiasts will set off for Paris. This initiative, which is one of the largest charity cycling campaigns in Europe, aims to raise money for seriously ill children. Six teams from Germany are taking part to donate to the German Children's Cancer Foundation, which has raised more than 100 million euros for research projects in recent years, as the German Children's Cancer Foundation reports.

The donations collected during the bike tour will not only be used for medical treatments, but also for important research projects. Martin Spranck, Managing Director of the German Children's Cancer Foundation, emphasizes how important this is for raising awareness and supporting children with cancer and their families.

The upcoming events are a sign of solidarity and the strength that lies in the community. Participation in the Hanse Tour Sonnenschein and the Team Rynkeby campaign shows that each of us can help with the simplest means - be it through donations or by taking part in such events. Together we are strong!
