Today, on September 15, 2025, the Husumer Sports Club since 1875 e.V. has once again made a name for itself with a look at its successes and challenges. The largest sports club in North Frisia has developed into a real supporter of inclusion and integration in recent years, and not without reason.
A look back
In 2022, three sports clubs in Husum merged to form a strong unit. The merger not only brought new members, but also a variety of opportunities. We are now facing a very special occasion: the club's 150th anniversary calls for a celebration that has it all. There is already some prospect of the plans: the club has used up reserves for a second club bus and the construction of an e-sports center in order to further expand the sports offering. A planned artificial turf field will soon enrich the sports offering.
Only network in the region
News from the Emil Frey Coastal Garage in Husum: An event took place on August 9th at which site manager Andreas Andersen spoke about the changes in the sports industry. The event hosted 42 guests from business, politics, administration, education and sport. After the exciting lecture, there was a networking platform that served to make new contacts and create synergies. The association emphasizes its important role as a network partner for various industries. A “Stormstadt network” was created and is regularly updated as part of the club’s sponsorship concept.
Next Steps
Get ready! The next network meeting will soon take place at the Nord-Ostsee-Sparkasse in Husum. This is where existing knowledge is passed on and new starting points for cooperation are created. What's particularly pleasing is that the platform is organized quarterly and promotes barrier-free processes, making access easier for all members of the community.
A look into the future
Another merger with another club is planned for 2024. These steps are not only necessary to make ends meet financially, but above all to develop a strong community in Husum. The association will also apply for a grant of approximately 10,000 euros for the anniversary series of events in 2025. This is intended to further promote brand building and identification in Husum.
