Rellingen fire department presents new turntable ladder for 920,000 euros!
The Rellingen fire department in the Pinneberg district has made impressive technical progress since 2022 with the help of a new Rosenbauer L32A XS 3.2 turntable ladder. With an investment of around 920,000 euros, the fire department purchased a vehicle that not only offers impressive performance data, but also a variety of technical refinements. The turntable ladder, which is mounted on a Mercedes-Benz Atego chassis, reaches a working height of 32 meters and a basket floor height of 30 meters. This enables emergency services to act effectively even in complicated situations.
The heart of the new turntable ladder is the 300 hp six-cylinder diesel engine with a displacement of 7,698 cm³ and the modern automatic transmission. The total weight of the vehicle is 16 tons, which makes it a powerful colleague in use. With its rescue basket HR-500 F, the turntable ladder also has a payload of 500 kilograms, ideal for transporting equipment and emergency services.
Rich technical equipment
But that's not all: In addition to the impressive range and powerful motorization, the turntable ladder has a number of technical features that make life easier for firefighters. The equipment includes, among other things, LED ambient and podium lighting as well as a large-area Aldi 360 light, which ensures optimal visibility. The fire department also relies on innovative solutions when it comes to safety: an anemometer, reversing and basket cameras are on board, and supporting systems such as target memory and an automated retrieval function offer additional safety during operations.
A look at the area of operation: The fire brigade equipment includes two B and two C hoses, a powerful RM 8 foam/water cannon with 200 liters per minute, two breathing apparatus and a high-performance fan. Even in the event of a power outage, provisions are made: a 14 kVA power generator is also available to the emergency services. There are also several cordless chainsaws and fall protection equipment on board.
Training and operational readiness
Of course, the new technology is only as good as the people who use it. For this reason, ten emergency services from the Rellingen fire department have already been trained in how to use the new turntable ladder, and further training is already being planned. It remains exciting to see how the team under the radio call name “Florian Pinneberg 11-32-01” will use this new technology in practice. If you look at the diverse options that the vehicle offers, you can be convinced that the Rellingen fire department is ideally equipped for future operations.
The fact that this turntable ladder is now a central part of the Rellingen fire department shows how important modern technology is for operational protection and the safety of the population. As the community continues to grow in size in the region, this investment is an important step towards greater safety and efficiency in an emergency. In combination with the well-trained team, the fire department should be prepared for all challenges that come their way.
