The traffic situation in the Plön district will be put to the test in the coming days, specifically on November 5th and 6th. District road 53, which runs between Preetz and Schellhorn, will be completely closed for urgently needed repair work. As the Kiel News reported, the closure mainly affects individual damaged areas that need to be repaired. However, a comprehensive road renovation is not planned.
Construction work will take place daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is weather dependent. This means that the dates may change depending on the weather. Drivers should be prepared to avoid the construction route as much as possible. The signposted diversion leads from Preetz via K53, L49, and B76 to Rastkrug, before taking K53 to Schellhorn and back again. However, passage remains possible for cyclists, pedestrians, local public transport and emergency services.
