The anticipation in the provost is growing, because from July 12th to August 17th, 2025 we will be celebrating the Korntage! This year we can expect a five-week festival that traditionally combines country life and culture. The celebrations start on July 12th from 1 p.m. in Wendtorf, and even if we don't throw ourselves into a competition for the most beautiful straw figure, the planned events promise a lot of fun and variety for young and old. The opening ceremony in Wendtorf is the perfect place to get an overview of the numerous events and activities. The new grain princess will be introduced at 3 p.m., while a varied supporting program awaits visitors. In addition to a church service, a talk with guests of honor and musical performances by the “Eintracht Schönberg” choir, there will also be a concert with the solo artist “Arne”. For gourmets, delicacies such as cakes, grilled food and fish are available - there really is something for every taste!

Straw figures and stamping fun

Things also get colorful and creative with the oversized straw figures that are set up throughout the provost. Every year these works of art are the centerpiece of Korntage. This year there is the opportunity to actively participate in collecting stamps. On each straw figure you will find a special stamp; The goal is to fill a coupon with 19 different stamps that must be submitted by August 13, 2025. The drop-off points are located quite centrally in the tourist information centers in Schönberg, Laboe and other places. The coupon itself can also be easily accessed in the special Korntage magazine. Anyone interested should get in touch as soon as possible because there are great prizes to be won – for example three restaurant vouchers worth 50 euros each! These Korntage are all about community and creativity. The straw figures are not only beautiful sights, but also funny works of art. Visitors can marvel at a five-meter-high wind turbine in the Probstei Museum in Schönberg and a four-meter-high anchor figure at the village pond in Stakendorf. But also very special specimens such as the oversized fish sandwich in Laboe or the “weird birds” in Wendtorf are absolute eye-catchers and make you smile. Supported by volunteer artists, each straw figure is designed with great attention to detail.

Diverse supporting program and exciting experiences

The Korntage offer a colorful bouquet of events for the entire family. In addition to the straw figures, there are farm tours, guided bike tours and even small coffee tables in the villages. On weekends, coffee and cake are offered near the straw figures - a cozy meeting place for anyone who wants to chat or just enjoy the view. The Probstei Tourism Association has put its heart and soul into this special event over the last 23 years and this year is once again offering an unforgettable experience for everyone!
