Mental Health Week: Events for more confidence!

“Mental Health Week” will take place from October 10th to 20th under the motto “Let Confidence Grow – Be Mentally Strong into the Future”. In the Plön district, numerous providers of psychosocial counseling and support work are active in order to inform the population about important help offers in the region. Loud kn online will offer more than 25 events designed to showcase various projects and encourage people to talk about their mental health.

A special highlight during this period is the “Trialogue”, which will take place on Wednesday, October 15th, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the “Anschütz-Eck” social space project in Schönkirchen. This event is open to the public and is aimed at people with depression, their relatives and professionals. For current information, the Coordination Office for Integration and Participation of the Plön District and their contact information are available:Tel. 04522/743530,Email: integration@kreisploen.de.

Diverse events for everyone

But that's not all! An online event entitled “Mindfulness and Me-Time for Single Parents” will take place on Tuesday, October 14th at 8 p.m., led by Jana Knutzen. This 90-minute session offers valuable impulses, exercises and, last but not least, time to breathe deeply. Registrations can be made to the Equal Opportunities Officer of the Schrevenborn Office, Stefanie Ulbrich (Tel. 0431/2409143).

Particularly worth mentioning is the participation of the German Depression League e. V., which is organizing a special workshop on the topic of optimism as part of the action week. This workshop is aimed at anyone who wants to strengthen their resilience. Here we explain what makes optimistic people and how you can specifically build this important quality. The workshop includes theoretical input as well as practical exercises to focus on positive aspects in everyday life and is free of charge under the leadership of Frauke Puttfarken, an experienced resilience trainer. Registration is also required here, which can be done using a corresponding registration form (more information can be found at depressionsliga.de ).

Cultural enrichment

In the midst of these important events, cultural highlights cannot be missed. The Heikendorf town hall concerts start on Saturday, October 11th. At 5 p.m. the sisters Anouchka and Katharina Hack can be heard in the Heikendorf open all-day school. The tickets cost 15 euros, reduced for schoolchildren and students 5 euros, and are only available at the box office. Together with these festivities, the Museumshafen Kiel association will open its music winter on Friday, October 10th at 8 p.m. on board the lightship “Laesoe Rende” with a performance by the duo “Einzig! Nicht artig!”, who will delight the audience with singing and guitar sounds.

Ahead, there are some important structural changes in the region: The Schleswig-Holstein State Office for Road Construction and Transport has started the second construction phase on the B502 between Heikendorf and Schönkirchen. This work, which is expected to last until October 31st, will require a complete closure of the road in the direction of Kiel. Diversions are signposted so that traffic in both directions is directed along the carriageway to Heikendorf.
