On Sunday evening there was a serious accident at the Alte Landstrasse/Westring intersection in Bargteheide, in which three people suffered minor injuries. How ln-online.de Reportedly, a VW Golf and a BMW collided, while the 62-year-old driver of the Golf, according to the police, probably disregarded the right of way of the 73-year-old BMW driver. Particularly noteworthy: Both vehicles had dogs on board, which luckily remained uninjured.
The first emergency calls were received by the rescue control center at around 7:20 p.m. The Bargteheide volunteer fire department, three ambulances, an emergency doctor and the chief emergency doctor were then called to the scene of the accident. The answer to the question of how this accident could have occurred remains uncertain for the time being, as the investigation is still ongoing. At the time of the collision, the traffic lights were flashing yellow.
The rescue measures
When they arrived at the scene of the accident, the fire department took care of the spilled fuel and secured the damaged vehicles. Both cars had to be towed and the intersection was completely closed during the rescue and recovery work. The road was reopened after about an hour and a half.
The two injured people were immediately treated on site and then taken to hospital. Interestingly, the rescue workers also found a solution for the two dogs: the German Shepherd from the Golf was handed over to the owner, while the dog from the BMW was picked up by a family member.
