Complete closure of the B75: traffic disaster between Ratzbek and Hamberge!

The B75 between Ratzbek and Hamberge will remain completely closed from August 8th to September 5th, 2025. This is necessary in order to carry out urgently needed renovation work that affects both the roadway and the accompanying cycle path. The renovation, which is part of a comprehensive project, has a total cost of around 4.2 million euros, which will be borne entirely by the federal government reported.

The construction work, which may vary due to possible weather conditions, is planned as part of three construction phases. The State Office for Road Construction and Transport Schleswig-Holstein (LBV.SH) has strict safety standards to ensure both the safety of road users and the well-being of construction workers. As a result of the full closure, adjacent properties are only accessible to a limited extent by car. However, police and emergency services have access to the construction area at all times explained.

Traffic diversions

A large-scale diversion was set up during construction work. This leads from Stubbendorf via the L85 via Lokstedt to Groß Barnitz, from there on via K7 to Klein Wesenberg and K6 to Lübeck-Moisling until the B75 can be reached again. The diversion was organized in close coordination with the police, the traffic authorities and the affected communities and bus route operators. All affected road users, including local public transport, have been informed of the necessary timetable changes and adapted routes emphasized.

Business premises along the route may be temporarily affected, but the municipality of Hamberge is ensuring that the access to the Reecke remains open in order to reduce the burden on residents to a minimum. Cyclists are being diverted onto the road for safety, but can still use the B75 explained.

Bridge renovations in focus

The situation with the B75 is part of a larger trend, as it is also clear in the area of bridge renovations in Germany that the demand for modernization is increasing. Reports have shown that many bridges are in need of repair and the costs of such projects often exceed original estimates shows. The challenges posed by an insufficient budget and a lack of staff make it difficult to implement the necessary measures. Bridge renovation is identified as a key cost driver, and the federal government would like to provide new funds to finance these essential infrastructure projects.

The construction work on the B75 is only a small part of the upcoming challenges that accompany similar projects. Commuters and residents will be faced with traffic disruptions in the coming period, but the safety and quality of the infrastructure are the top priority - a good hand will certainly be crucial here.
