Train traffic in Krefeld finally starts after signal box damage!
There has been a lot of trouble in train traffic in the Krefeld area in the last few days. Many travelers had to be patient because a defective signal box caused massive restrictions. Trains were canceled for days, making travel difficult for commuters and travelers. There was a real traffic jam on the tracks and the worry lines among the passengers were obvious. But now you can breathe a sigh of relief: the first trains are running again!
According to a report by South Germans The problem has now been partially resolved. The regional connections RE 7 and RE 10 are back in operation, meaning the situation is slowly returning to normal. However, and passengers should note this: it will still take some time until the timetable is completely stabilized. The rest of the work on the signal box is currently underway at full speed.
Affected connections and replacement traffic
The problems began at 3:00 a.m. on Thursday morning when the regional express lines RE 7, RE 10 and RE 42 were affected by the failure or had to be rerouted. At least there was a ray of hope: traffic was only possible to a limited extent for the regional trains RB 33 and RB 35, whereas the RB 37 was completely canceled. In order to still offer travelers an option, a replacement bus service was set up. But not only the signal box, but also the patience of many passengers was put to the test!
So the everyday life of the people here on the Lower Rhine is mixed with the inconveniences of the current situation. The journey to work certainly took longer at times. But even while you're waiting, you can ask yourself: Is my Microsoft 365 app already up to date? A quick look at the Microsoft Office website could be worth it, because there is now a new copilot that is supposed to make working with Word, Excel, etc. easier.
However, the most important thing remains: train traffic is finally recovering, even if things are not running smoothly yet. After days of standstill, we are well on the way back to normality - and that is good news for all commuters!
