The state of Baden-Württemberg has taken an important step towards affordable housing with the “Clever Bauen BW” funding call. Minister for Regional Development and Housing, Nicole Razavi, gave the starting signal for this initiative as part of the strategy dialogue on affordable housing and innovative construction (SDB). reported. The aim is to promote model projects in housing construction that test innovative approaches to improving existing construction and equipment standards.
A funding volume of 1.4 million euros in the first round is intended to support the construction industry in creating affordable and sustainable living space. Current construction methods are often complex and involve higher costs, which makes it urgent to look for simpler and more robust solutions without sacrificing comfort and sustainability.
Funding opportunities for innovative construction projects
As the current call for funding suggests, there are several interesting ways to apply for funding: Applicants receive 300 euros per square meter of eligible living space for structural implementation. In addition, 100% of the eligible accompanying costs for scientific support up to a maximum of 100,000 euros per project will be covered. Up to 80% of the costs for feasibility studies are also eligible, with a maximum amount of 50,000 euros is reported.
Those interested have the opportunity to submit project outlines in two rounds. The first round runs until March 31, 2026, while the second period is open until June 30, 2026. The submitted concepts are examined and selected by a committee of experts.
Sustainability and social responsibility
