Medieval spectacle: knight tournament and poetry slam in the region!

The big anniversary festival “935 Years of Justingen” will be celebrated in Justingen from July 12th to 13th, 2025. This weekend, medieval fans and the curious will get their money's worth. The 행사 promises a lively journey through time into the world of knights, noble ladies and busy traders. From Saturday, July 12th, visitors can immerse themselves in the historical atmosphere and look forward to a varied program that will appeal to the whole family.

The start of the festival will be celebrated at 2 p.m. with an opening speech and a kindergarten performance. The Württemberg Knights' children's tournament begins at 3:30 p.m. and will delight the little ones. The highlight of the day will undoubtedly be the night tournament at 8 p.m., where the knights compete against each other by torchlight. The historic market, which features all sorts of medieval crafts and delicacies, also creates the necessary festive atmosphere.

Medieval activities and lectures

Sunday, July 13th, brings additional cultural highlights. At 10 a.m. there will be a liturgy of the word in the Church of St. Oswald, accompanied musically by the “Muoteshalp” group. Afterwards, at 11:30 a.m., the “Schlossmaurer” organization will give a lecture on the history of Justingen in the community center. But the real spectacle of the day is the big knights' tournament, which begins at 2 p.m. and will captivate the audience.

Anyone interested in medieval art will be delighted with what the market has to offer. Here you can discover bronze foundry, pottery, leather goods and many other handicrafts. The event will be accompanied musically by the group “Zechpreller” from Günzburg. The Justingen village community takes care of the food, so that the guests are not only spoiled with their eyes and ears, but also with culinary delights.

Entrance fees and ticket information

The entrance fee for visiting the knights' tournament and the medieval market is 8 euros for adults and 5 euros for children aged 6 to 14 years. Tickets are available at the box office on site. The local residents and the village community are looking forward to numerous visitors who want to be transported back to the time of the knights and experience the historical flair of Justingen. And in Ehingen, music lovers can also look forward to a successful “melodic magic”, which is part of the music summer and is celebrated on the 200th anniversary of Johann Strauss.
