The coming weekend will be all about cultural celebrations in the Böblingen district. In Dagersheim alone, the 950-year history is honored with a colorful program that ranges from musicals to film reviews to regional festivities.
On Friday, June 27th, the premiere of the musical “Imagine…” will take place on the Dagersheim village square at 7 p.m. This performance, composed especially for the anniversary, promises to captivate the audience with five stories from Dagersheim. This is just the start of a weekend full of highlights that is expected by the citizens of Dagersheim and Böblingen and their guests. The celebrations are open to everyone and are intended to strengthen the community. The musical weekend is complemented by the “Schlapphüadle Festival”, where locals and visitors can meet.
A month full of culture
The Sindelfingen Biennale begins on Saturday, June 28th, at 2 p.m. on Berliner Platz. This year, the cultural festival welcomes all art and culture enthusiasts under the motto “Freedom and Responsibility”. The Biennale commemorates both the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War and the 500th anniversary of the Peasants' Battle of Goldberg. A highlight of the program is the new edition of the dance theater “Human Material”, which premieres on Sunday at 8 p.m. in the Church of Reconciliation on Goldberg. Tickets are available for 20 euros, reduced rates are also offered.
Another interesting event is the open day at the Böblingen-Sindelfingen sewage treatment plant, which takes place on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visitors are invited to gain insights into wastewater treatment and take part in a children's program.
Film premiere and anniversary beer
The celebrations for “950 Years of Dagersheim” will begin with the screening of the historical film “At Home in Dagersheim”. This restored black and white film will be shown in the Dagersheimer Festhalle on Saturday, January 18th, at 7 p.m. and on Sunday, January 19th, at 4 p.m. The film was made on behalf of the Dagersheim Fire Department Music Band and offers a nostalgic look back at times gone by.
The anniversary also has a mascot – “Dagoldi” – who is ceremoniously christened. Another highlight will be the first serving of the Dagersheim anniversary beer “Schlapphüadle”, brewed by the Schönbuch Braumanufaktur.
