Fire Department Championships 2025: Hessian teams celebrate great triumph!

A real fireworks display of competitions was set off in Böblingen at the weekend: The 2025 German Fire Brigade Championships took place in the picturesque setting of the Waldstadion in Böblingen-Dagersheim. Over 63 teams with a total of 756 fire brigade members from all over Germany competed to demonstrate their skills in the competition for the championship title. There was great celebration when the winners were announced: The fire departments Nidderau-Eichen A1 (Hesse), Langenbach B1 (Rhineland-Palatinate), Nidderau-Eichen (Women A, Hesse) and Hasselroth (Women B, Hesse) secured the coveted titles. Braunschweig newspaper reports that the participants' months of preparation were definitely rewarded.

Hermann Schreck, Vice President of the German Fire Brigade Association (DFV), warmly congratulated the winners and expressed his thanks to the organizers and the judges. A successful celebration for the fire department

The event took place over two days, on July 11th and 12th, and, in addition to exciting competitions, also offered a supporting program that left nothing to be desired. On Friday the evening started with a blue light party, where DJ Kevin Christens provided the atmosphere. Saturday began with the official opening and featured exciting competitions, followed by the final of the “3 Lions Cup” and the subsequent award ceremony. Böblingen fire department planned this event with great attention to detail, which was also reflected in the large number of participants and the good atmosphere.

The victories and celebrations were ceremoniously acknowledged by Thomas Reuter, head of the competitions department at the German Fire Brigade Association. Reuter is an experienced firefighter who joined the Böblingen Volunteer Fire Department in 1992 and has held various positions since then. He not only managed the cash register, but also successfully took part in international competitions. In addition to the competitions, the DFV attached great importance to the celebrations surrounding the championships, which gave the event a particularly festive touch. Firefighters Association highlights how important such meetings are for cohesion and camaraderie within the fire brigade.
