Deputy Mayor Noel Duque explained that in recent years in particular, there has been an increase in suspicious requests to adopt black cats, often without interest in long-term homes. The city would like to make it clear: animals are not fashion accessories!

Protective measures in Böblingen

In the Böblingen district, people look at the situation a little more calmly. There are currently no comparable protective measures for black cats here. The local animal shelter gives the all-clear that there is no immediate danger to the cats. Nevertheless, it is suggested that Halloween could also be an excellent opportunity to adopt a black cat. The animal shelter hopes that many people will leave their prejudices about black cats behind and give the animals a chance at a loving home.
