Half marathon and pleasure hike: Simmersfeld invites you!
On July 26, 2025, Simmersfeld will be the venue for an exciting annual event for the local ski club. One of the highlights is the 19th Simmersfeld Half Marathon, which is very popular with athletes. Participants can look forward to routes of 7, 14 and 21 kilometers, all of which start and end at the Albblickschule. Refreshment stations along the route ensure that runners are well looked after. If you would like to register for the half marathon, you can do so simply by email skiclub-simmersfeld@gmx.de do, but registration is not absolutely necessary, as Schwarzwälder Bote reports.
In addition to the half marathon, the 3rd wine and beer enjoyment hike, which stretches over around 7 kilometers, invites you. Hikers can look forward to five gourmet stations where beer and wine specialties as well as delicious delicacies invite you to linger. Registration for the pleasure hike is over eventfrog.de or in person on Fridays, July 4th, 11th and 18th, from 7 p.m. in the Simmersfeld ski hut.
A celebration for everyone!
The event isn't just for runners; Non-participants are also welcome. While the focus is on the enjoyable hike, all visitors can enjoy a coffee party and savory delicacies such as sausage salad, currywurst and red sausage in a convivial atmosphere. So it's guaranteed to be a feast for all the senses.
The ski club has not only prepared a lot for the event, but also recently made a personnel change in the committee. While Roland Müller was said goodbye at the last meeting, Kathrin Rathmann is now joining the board. The current board consists of:

Half marathons are trending
Half marathons are trendy and offer many athletes an ideal opportunity to feel prepared for longer distances. Data from HDSports shows that more than 500 running events take place in Germany every year, with the 21,097 kilometers of the half marathon being easily manageable for many amateur runners. In Cologne, for example, the marathon attracts over 10,000 finishers for the half marathon, showing how popular this distance has become.
In this sense, the Simmersfeld Half Marathon is another step in the right direction for the region in order to attract both athletes and pleasure lovers. Many will enjoy taking part in the beautiful routes and culinary stations and exchanging ideas with like-minded people. This will definitely be an event you don't want to miss!
