Hop festival in Hochdorf delights 3,000 beer lovers and their families!

The hop festival in Hochdorf was a true spectacle that attracted thousands of beer lovers to the region last weekend. Over 3,000 members of the beer club came together to celebrate together. Both young and old were well catered for with an eventful program. The festival offered an unforgettable party night with the live acts “4 more Friends” and “She’s the Boss”, which really heated up the guests. Saturday was all about pop and rock and gave the revelers a night full of music and good spirits. Schwarzwälder Bote reports on a night of partying that no one will soon forget.

Sunday, however, was dedicated to the family program. The event also catered for the younger guests with a festive ecumenical service, a tapping of a barrel and a colorful children's program that included face painting, a children's bungee and a carousel. Mayor Jürgen Großmann praised the strong brand of the hop festival, which is run by the Hochdorfer Kronenbrauerei in the twelfth generation and has a tradition going back over 360 years.

Beer lovers and regional delicacies

The weather was ideal for the event after the last three weeks of rain and added to the great setting. Eberhard Haizmann, brewery manager at the Kronenbrauerei, warmly thanked his employees and the regional clubs for their active support. A higher, open tent not only provided shade for the festive visitors, but is also planned to be enlarged in the future. There was a lot of activity at the bike parking lot opposite the brewery, there were a large number of cyclists and they enjoyed the happy atmosphere.

The guests were also offered a lot of culinary delights. The street food stalls presented a wide selection of dishes that catered for every taste. From hearty grilled dishes to delicious cheese specialties and Asian dishes – the selection left nothing to be desired. This fits perfectly with the new developments in beer festivals in Germany, where regional, national and international beer specialties are served fresh from the barrel. Bierfeste Deutschland emphasizes that such festivals arose from a genuine enthusiasm for beer.

Another highlight of the festival was the award to the Hochdorfer Kronenbrauerei, which recently received the DLG Federal Silver Award for its art of brewing. This honor shows how high the quality of the stuff they brew is. Haizmann also commented on the upcoming hop harvest, which was benefited by the rain. With the ambitious goal of increasing the number of members of the beer club from currently over 8,500 to the 10,000 mark, the future of the hop festival and the Kronenbrauerei will remain exciting.

As every year, the Hopfenfest shows that it's not just about beer, but rather about getting together and celebrating regional culture. If you would like to become part of this tradition, check out Hochdorfer.de for more information and not to miss anything.
