Rioting teenagers vandalize seven cars in Calw-Alzenberg!
In the early morning hours of August 12, 2025, there was a chaotic riot in the Calw-Alzenberg district that permanently disrupted the local peace. As Schwarzwälder Bote reports, seven cars were vandalized between 4:30 a.m. and 5:15 a.m. The police found that the side windows of the vehicles had been smashed by a screwdriver, and in one particularly bold case the handbrake of a car was released, causing the vehicle to roll a few meters away. Luckily there was no further damage.
The three teenagers who committed the crimes - a girl and two boys between the ages of 15 and 17 - were under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. With an estimated property damage of around 10,000 euros, the outcome of this nighttime escapade is devastating. When the police arrived, all three tried to run away, but two of them were caught at the scene. The third person involved was later identified. The district service of the Calw police station is leading the investigation and is calling on witnesses or victims to call 07051/161-3511.
A look at juvenile crime
This riot is not an isolated incident, but is part of a larger context of juvenile crime, which is often committed by young people of a similar age. According to a report by bpb, youth crime is predominantly a male phenomenon, with many of the young perpetrators going through a phase of criminal behavior while growing up. Interestingly, school surveys indicate that up to 70% of students have committed a crime in the last 12 months. This shows that such incidents are common in adolescence.
The dangers associated with such acts are often perceived as alarming by society. However, the majority of youth who become delinquent typically stop delinquent as they develop, providing hope for future positive development. However, the question remains as to how such incidents can be prevented in the future.
In summary, the incident in Calw-Alzenberg shows how important it is to address the causes of youth crime and strengthen preventative measures. Society is called upon to invest more in educational and leisure activities in order to show young people alternatives and perspectives.
