TSG Balingen starts their regional league preparations with a breath of fresh air!

In Balingen the new season of the regional league started with a breath of fresh air. The Black Forest Messenger reports that TSG Balingen only started preparing for the new season three weeks after the celebrated promotion party on Whit Monday. In midsummer temperatures, 25 players met for the first training session. Among them are three new faces: Jonas Brändle from FC 08 Villingen, Tim Hannak, who previously played for VfB Stuttgart and can play as both a central and right-back, and Luca Battista, who played for Freiberg in the Regionalliga last season.

Preparation will be particularly exciting as the TSG managers keep an eye on the squad composition. In particular, the departures of Levis Schaber and Noah Haller represent part of the upheaval, while at the same time four new players are given the chance to prove themselves. Head coach Murat Isik emphasizes the importance of preparation; He calls on the players to use the high workload to adapt their style of play to the requirements of the regional league, which is based on the professional training conditions of other clubs. A clear goal is to stay in the league, and a clear plan has been formulated to transfer the “Balinger game idea” to the new league. That won't be easy, after all, the Balingen team had to take a 21-day break in preparation for the season after direct promotion in May.

Preparation for full speed

The preparation is well timed. Loud the Swabian newspaper The training plan includes four practice sessions per week, supplemented by test games that take place on the weekend. The Bitzer Cup against SG Empfingen will take place on July 5th, followed by the Mey Generalbau Cup on July 12th and 13th, in which teams such as the Stuttgarter Kickers and FC 08 Villingen will take part. This format could be an initial assessment of Isik's team's position in the new Regionalliga Südwest.

Also important: Captain Matthias Schmitz has to take a few weeks off due to hand surgery. The team has completed seven runs so far and despite these operational difficulties, the team is well-coordinated, which has the advantage that you don't have to start from scratch despite the departures.

Challenges in the regional league

The regional league begins at the beginning of August and represents a new challenge. The coach expects the demands to increase as many teams train under professional conditions. Isik knows that speed of action and counter-pressing must be further improved in order to remain competitive in the league. “We want to surprise without discussing relegation,” is his passionate goal.

Organizational adjustments have also been announced for the planning of the regional league. From the 2025/26 season, a new software system for creating game plans will be introduced. This should respond more flexibly to the needs of the clubs and their surroundings and could therefore also be an advantage for Balingen, as shown the website of the Regionalliga Südwest is explained. This ensures that planning can be better tailored to local conditions and other important factors.

The coming weeks are crucial for TSG Balingen. With a fresh squad and a lot of drive, the goal of staying in the league is within reach. Fans and supporters can look forward to the team's developments.
