Gala of the Dancers: Prize winners inspire on November 16th in Heidelberg!
In less than two weeks, on November 16, 2025, things will get exciting again in Heidelberg when the gala for the award winners of the 29th International Solo Dance Theater Festival Stuttgart will take place. Organized by UnterwegsTheater Heidelberg, the event starts at 8 p.m. in the HebelHalle. It is a signal for all dance enthusiasts, because the gala will offer highlights that will get under your skin.
This renowned festival has made a name for itself since its founding in Stuttgart in 1997 and attracts several hundred dance artists from all over the world every year. Those involved apply with impressive solo pieces that are 9 to 12 minutes long and are characterized by contemporary movement language. MRN News reports that the award winners were determined by an expert jury, which this year includes, among others, the founder of the UnterwegsTheater, Jai Gonzales, as well as other well-known jury members such as Rosie Kay and Philippe Kratz.
Diverse topics and impressive achievements
The participants' pieces are not only technically outstanding, but also reflect important social issues. Ideal vs. reality, standstill vs. change and gender equality are some of the aspects that the choreographers address in their work. The gala will therefore not only be a platform for top dance performances, but also for profound messages, such as the Stuttgart Ballet supplemented.
The winners who will present their pieces this evening have already been chosen. These include, among others:

Unfortunately, some award winners, such as Hamilton Blomquist and Charly Mintya, will not be attending the gala. But the rest will enchant viewers with their unique pieces, prepared for a tour through Germany, Europe and Brazil. The prize money for the winners is between 1,500 and 3,500 euros, while audience prizes of 500 euros each are sponsored by private sponsors.
With the artistic direction of Marcelo Santos and the festival direction of Elly Walch, the gala promises an unforgettable evening of movement, art and encounters. So if you have a love for dance and contemporary themes, you shouldn't miss this event. Where else do you have the opportunity to experience such creative talent in one place?
