Important A6 motorway closure: Massive diversions from Thursday!
Autobahn 6 will be partially closed from Thursday, July 10th until Tuesday, July 15th. This particularly affects the Schwetzingen/Hockenheim junction, where construction work is being carried out on a bridge and several lanes. Loud Picture The most important work begins on Thursday at 10 p.m., while parts of the on- and off-ramps are already impassable from 8 p.m.
However, a challenge awaits drivers: they are urgently asked to use wide detours to avoid getting stuck in traffic jams. Dynamic LED signposts at the Walldorf and Mannheim intersections are intended to provide information about diversions and help maintain traffic flow. As a further measure, it is recommended to switch off the navigation systems, as the latest route changes may not be taken into account.
Planned diversions
The diversions are specifically designed for different purposes:
What comes after the construction work?
After the full closure, only minor work is expected, which should probably be completed by the end of July Heidelberg24 reported. This means that the restrictions should soon be a thing of the past and the motorway should be fully accessible again.
During this time, it is advisable to regularly check the traffic situation. An interactive dashboard powered by Autobahn.de provides current information on traffic jams and construction sites on German motorways. This enables travel plans to be adjusted quickly and helps traffic centers respond quickly to unforeseeable disruptions.
