A dramatic situation occurred on Sunday in a field near Dischingen in the Heidenheim district. There was a fire there that caused a tractor and a baler to burst into flames. The tractor driver, who was behind the wheel at the time of the crime, noticed the fire and tried to put it out on his own. However, the baler was already fully on fire when the fire brigade arrived, which further aggravated the situation. Fortunately, the tractor driver was uninjured. Fire hazard in agriculture

Spontaneous ignition, especially at temperatures above 40°C, represents a major risk in agriculture. Regular temperature measurements and documentation of the temperature progression are essential.
The eventful situation in Dischingen is a sobering example of how serious technical defects in agriculture can be. In addition to the high financial burden, the physical safety of the people working is also of central importance. It is hoped that such incidents can be prevented in the future.
