A new wind is blowing at the 112th Tour de France: three German cyclists, Florian Lipowitz, Marius Mayrhofer and Niklas Märkl, have made their debut. These athletes not only represent German cycling, but also a new generation that wants to impress on the big stage. The challenges are enormous, but so is the motivation. But he fought through and finally secured sixth place in the individual time trial, which shows that he has established himself in the highly competitive tour circuit. Mayrhofer, who took ninth place on the first stage, enjoys the crowd and the atmosphere, while Märkl observes that cycling, especially on the Tour, has become more hectic and stressful.
A total of ten German riders are taking part in this tour, which signals a positive trend for German cycling. All three debutants have a clear goal: to reach the Champs Élysées in Paris on July 27th. That would not only be a personal triumph, but also a sign of the revival of German cycling on the international stage.
