As SWR reports, the fire led to a large-scale operation by the fire brigade, in which around 80 emergency services were involved, including the Technical Relief Agency (THW).

The extinguishing work lasted until the early hours of the morning because the wood chips in the silo had to be laboriously pulled apart and extinguished. To ensure that the fire could be completely extinguished, a vacuum vehicle from a waste disposal company was also requested to empty the silo. Fortunately, according to the fire department, there were no injuries. The cause of the fire remains unclear at the moment.

Details of the causes or consequences of this fire have not yet been released, but this shows that silo fire incidents are not uncommon.
