Tradition and fun: Mill Festival in Furschenbach on August 17th!
Next Sunday, August 17th, Furschenbach will once again be the scene of a special event: The traditional mill festival, organized by the Furschenbach Volunteer Fire Department, delights both young and old. The Rainbauern Mill, a historic building from 1875, opens its doors on this day and invites visitors to explore the renovated mill as part of the “Black Forest Mills Campaign”. This mill preservation and restoration initiative was launched in 1974, with the Rainbauern Mill being the first to receive this upgrade. Its impressive water wheel, 4.20 meters in diameter and equipped with 32 wheel blades, is a testament to the impressive technology of bygone times.
A true feast for the senses awaits guests: The “Mühlencafé” will offer an appetizing range of dishes, ranging from schnitzel and grilled plates with pasta to sour beans with bacon and the popular Black Forest cake. The tastes of the festival visitors should quickly get their money's worth!
Entertainment and activities
From 11 a.m., the musicians “The Three Furschenbächer” will bring atmosphere to the festival with their live music. Anyone who would like to get active themselves can take part in the traditional tractor meeting. Here, participants can look forward to a free drink with agricultural vehicles - making taking part twice as much fun! The little guests don't miss out either: they can take part in various games and fun activities. There is also a non-alcoholic free drink for the children and a children's tug so that they can be safely transported through the festival grounds.
The happy hustle and bustle comes to an end around 6 p.m., when the last notes of the music have faded away. The diverse offerings and the sociable atmosphere make the mill festival in Furschenbach an absolute highlight in August.
This festival is not only a wonderful opportunity to visit the traditional mill and experience its charm, but also an opportunity for the community to come together and enjoy a joyful day. The combination of history, cuisine and cultural entertainment makes the Mill Festival an unforgettable experience for everyone!
