Aubergine in Starnberg: Eleventh Michelin star for Maximilian Moser!
Another important milestone in gastronomy was celebrated in picturesque Starnberg: the renowned restaurant “Aubergine” in the Hotel Vier Saisonn has once again received a Michelin star. This means the restaurant holds its eleventh star in a row, a remarkable achievement reserved for only a few kitchens. Chef Maximilian Moser and his talented team have maintained this high standard since 2014, making Aubergine the only Michelin-starred restaurant in the Starnberg-Ammersee region Merkur reports.
Maximilian Moser, who joined the Hotel Vier Saisons as chef de partie in 2007, is proud of his team's consistent performance. He emphasizes that detailed work and high standards in kitchen practice are crucial to defending the star. The culinary vision of “Aubergine” is based on a seasonal “hero” who serves as the focal point for the creation of your dishes - this creates harmonious and surprising taste compositions, according to Vier Saisonen.
A real experience in star gastronomy
The gourmet restaurant seats 40 guests and offers a five- or seven-course menu as well as a vegetarian menu. Dishes are carefully put together, always focusing on freshness and regionality. The restaurant is open Wednesday to Saturday from 6:30 p.m., making it an ideal destination for fine dining.
A special highlight is coming up in July: a “food festival” will take place in the hotel on July 26th. Guests can look forward to barbecue, truffle pasta, live music and a champagne-sparkling atmosphere - tickets for this are available online. These events help strengthen the connection between the hospitality industry and the community and provide a fabulous ambience to enjoy culinary delights.
A look at the Michelin world
The “Aubergine” award is not only a personal confirmation for Moser and his team, but also part of a larger trend in gastronomy. The new MICHELIN Guide Germany 2025 includes a total of 341 star restaurants. New 3-star restaurants were also recognized this year, including Haerlin in Hamburg and Tohru in the Schreiberei, Munich. There are currently 46 star restaurants in North Rhine-Westphalia, but 10 had to give up their star, which further increases the competitive situation in the catering industry - as Tageskarte makes clear.
The “Aubergine” remains not only a jewel in Starnberg, but also a beacon for first-class gastronomy in the entire region. With the constant focus on quality and innovation, surprises could continue to follow - both for guests and local gourmets.
