With an area of around 45 hectares, Mainau is a garden paradise and is not only popular with flower lovers. From the colorful tulip blossoms in spring to over 30,000 rose bushes in the Italian Rose Garden during the summer - everything blooms and thrives here in every season. In autumn the dahlias shine in all their splendor, while the butterfly house, the second largest in Germany, houses a variety of colorful specimens.

The baroque Teutonic Order castle from the 18th century can be partially visited, and the impressive castle church of St. Mary with its frescoes and stucco work invites you to marvel. A very special offer for night owls: special evening tickets are available from June 2nd to September 14th, 2025. These allow access to the island from 5 p.m. until sunset, offering a completely different experience in blooming nature. The ticket prices are quite fair at 15 euros for adults and 10 euros for students or schoolchildren, while children up to 12 years of age can even get in for free. Admission opens daily from 5 p.m. and tickets can be purchased at the ticket offices or ticket machines - but not online.
