A big day for HSG Konstanz! After a long dry spell, the team finally achieved their first home win since April yesterday. The players and fans celebrated a longed-for success with an exciting 35:31 win against TSB Heilbronn-Horkheim in the 3rd League South. As handball-world.news reports, the last home win was on April 25th against TV Großwallstadt in the 2nd Bundesliga, so the relief is particularly great today.

Right from the start of the game, the Konstanz team sent a strong signal: after just 13 minutes, the team led 10-4. Maxim Pliuto and Lukas Dietrich made a decisive contribution to the success, the latter scoring a total of six goals. Lars Michelberger contributed the most goals for the HSG with an impressive twelve goals.

Tension until the end

The game remained exciting until the last minute. After a half-time lead of 19:17, Heilbronn-Horkheim was able to catch up to 23:22 in the second half. Goalkeeper Konstantin Poltrum proved to be supportive and made some crucial saves that stabilized the team. Coach Vitor Baricelli was pleased with his team's performance, but also stressed the need to stay focused, especially with the next difficult game against Wolves Würzburg, a promotion candidate, just around the corner.

The joy of the home win was clearly noticeable, both on the field and in the audience. Around 600 spectators loudly cheered on HSG Konstanz and were overjoyed after the game. Baricelli reminded us of the “24-hour rule” in sport – a moment of joy, as we are already looking ahead to the next challenges.

There are now some important matches coming up for HSG Konstanz: next Saturday there will be an away game in Würzburg, followed by three home games on November 22nd and 29th and December 6th. So the team has no reason to rest. The first step in the right direction has been taken and the HSG is ready for more. As the Südkurier summarizes, it is now important to carry on this momentum and get the best for the next games.
