HSG Konstanz wins the test against Saarlouis and starts the season strong!
An exciting handball match caused some excitement in the HSG Konstanz sports hall on August 17, 2025. The home team was able to beat promotion candidate HG Saarlouis with 31:27 (18:15). This duel was fought with a lot of intensity and served as a dress rehearsal before the start of the 3rd league.
HSG Konstanz faced difficulties at the start of the game. The 3:2:1 defense of the Saarland team put the Konstanzers in trouble. But new signing Lukas Dietrich proved to be the right man at the right moment and scored important goals in the early stages. After trailing by 9:11, the Konstanz team turned the game around and took the lead 18:15 at halftime.
A game full of emotions
Coach Vitor Baricelli, who had stressed before the game the importance of concentration and intensity, was visibly satisfied with his team's performance. In the second half, HSG Konstanz acted more dominantly and ensured clear conditions with an interim lead of 27:21. Jan Stotten scored the last goal seconds after the final siren and secured the deserved victory with his goal.
For HG Saarlouis, this was the first defeat in the test match series of the summer. Coach Jörg Lützelberger, who competed with experienced players such as Lars Weißgerber and Yves Kunkel, would still like to emphasize the positive aspects of the game. The reunion between Baricelli and Lützelberger was characterized by a warm exchange, which shows that the spirit of sportsmanship goes beyond the opponent.
The look forward
After the exciting test match, HSG Konstanz is planning a team event, followed by two days of training. These opportunities are important to continue preparing for the upcoming season. The last test will take place on August 30th in Hard before the official start of the season on September 6th against SG Köntreiben/Teningen.
At a time when sport is very important to many people, it will be exciting to see how HSG Konstanz and its newly formed squad will do in the coming league week. Considering the challenges and the positive energy that comes with this victory, the season could well be a promising one for the Konstanzers.
