Konstanz becomes part of the Swiss Air Rail network – travel is redefined!

From October 27, 2023, the city of Konstanz will be part of the new Air Rail network of Swiss Airlines and the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB). This means travelers can easily commute between the city and Zurich Airport with just one ticket. South Courier reports that tickets can now be booked, making travel planning much easier.

The Air Rail concept offers a smart solution for passengers: those who start in Konstanz can use their train ticket up to one day before departure or up to one day after arrival. Checking in once is enough to complete both the train and the flight journey. The advantages of the Air Rail network

Thanks to this initiative, Konstanz becomes the second German city in the Air Rail network, after Munich. In addition, the Air Rail network will be expanded to include three new cities: St. Gallen, Locarno and Konstanz, like SBB news reported. This means the network grows to a total of 24 destinations in Switzerland, Germany and Austria. St. Gallen is an important university and business location, while Locarno with its international film festival is a popular tourist destination.

Easy booking and travel pleasure

Booking for the new routes is possible from October 16, 2025. When booking, travelers can specify the train station as the departure or arrival point and thus do everything easily from one place.
