Dance school in Lörrach: success story goes into its third decade!
Dance life is booming in Lörrach! Sylvia Künnecke, who opened her first dance school in 1996, has made a name for herself with her school for ballet, modern, jazz and hip hop. The beginnings of the dance school were humble; she started in a small gym on Arndtstrasse. But in 1998 the school moved to a larger building on Wiesentalstrasse, where many talents have developed since then.
The development of the dance school is certainly impressive. Students who have already qualified for German championships are not uncommon, and participation in international competitions such as the Dance World Cup has increased the dance school's popularity. Formations recently shone in Fréjus (France) and Burgos (Spain), where Clara Brand even became vice world champion in solo dance. A real highlight for Lörrach!
Diversity and challenges
The dance school currently has an impressive 280 students who train three times a week. But a look at the composition of the group shows that there is a lack of male students. This is particularly unfortunate since adults aged 30 to 74 also enthusiastically participate. Funding comes mainly from membership fees, and the freelance trainers contribute their expertise.
However, the last few years have not been without challenges. After the landlord gave notice, the dance school had to move two years ago. A temporary home was found in the new address at Wiesentalstrasse 26. There were also difficulties with the city of Lörrach regarding the rent for the castle courtyard, which resulted in a move to the Waldorf school in Schopfheim. Künnecke hopes to be able to perform in the Burghof again next year, as Lörrach really lacks a comparable location.
A new path for local businesses
In addition to the dance school, other local companies also have the opportunity to network better and gain customers. The Top Local Places platform helps local businesses be found by new customers. The Art&Dance dance school is also represented there and offers a mobile-optimized online presence that allows unlimited views and contact requests. If you have any questions or are interested in special promotions in the Lörrach region, you can contact hello@tolocalplaces.com at any time.
While the dance school is now on summer break, the students can look forward to starting again in September and living out their passion for dance. In the meantime, it is to be hoped that the challenges will be overcome and the dance school will continue to be a place of creativity and success. Maybe Sylvia Künnecke will be able to achieve her goal of dancing in the castle courtyard again next year!
