Change in Zell: Marion Isele is planning a respectful new start as mayor

Marion Isele is facing an exciting challenge: after 14 weeks of intensive election campaigning, she has prevailed as mayor of Zell. But she is aware of the high expectations of the citizens. As she talks to Black Forest messenger explains, she felt the desire for change early on in the election campaign. Citizens wanted to experience more transparency, listening and togetherness, especially in personal conversations.

A central point in her election was the way she was treated in the local council, especially the contact with her predecessor Peter Palme, which was perceived as unfair. Isele has already had her first conversation with Palme and plans to promote a respectful communication culture in her coming years in office. Personal attacks are far from her concern; she wants to build bridges and seek dialogue with everyone involved.

Personal commitment and visions

Marion Isele is not a newcomer to the political arena - with 30 years of police work, she has experience that she will use as head of the public order office in Bad Säckingen from 2024. She views the challenges as mayor with respect and prepares intensively for them by holding discussions with the city administration, the local council and the population. Your goal? A city community where all citizens feel seen and taken seriously!

For Isele, central issues such as urban development, inner city revitalization, climate protection and sustainable mobility are of great importance. She plans to realize projects together with clubs and citizens and to actively use funding.

Voter turnout and personal speech

The voter turnout was disappointing for Isele, but this did not detract from her good election result. She emphasizes that her motivation to run for mayor comes not only from a desire for change, but also from a deep respect for the job itself. Her involvement in a mayoral mentoring program over the past few years also contributed to the decision that Zell was the right place for her.

In her personal life, the 52-year-old is married and the mother of three children aged 17, 21 and 22. This family environment gives her strength and inspires her to bring about positive change for the city of Zell. Citizens can be curious to see how Isele will shape the political climate in their community under the motto “respect and open exchange”.
