Nine new agricultural masters awarded in Aalen!
On December 5, 2025, Wolpertshausen was the place where agricultural talents were honored. At a ceremonial handover of the master's certificates to graduates of the Aalen Academy of Agriculture and Home Economics, Dr. Ulrich Dura, department director of the Stuttgart regional council, presented the coveted certificates to nine newly crowned masters of agriculture. These included Jakob Feldwieser, Marius Fürst and Verena Wöhrle, who also received special recognition for their outstanding examination performance. Schwäbische Post reports that the path to the master craftsman certificate was peppered with intensive preparations and demanding exams.
The graduates had to complete extensive homework that not only analyzed the business and labor situation of their own companies, but also developed concrete improvement measures and future goals. This work played an important role in personal and operational development and had to be defended before an examination committee.
Exam structure and content
The entire examination process required careful preparation. The content included not only written tests in crop production and animal husbandry, but also an external business assessment, in which the participants had to evaluate an unknown business from an economic perspective. Topics such as vocational and work education, employee management and labor law were taken into account. The new agricultural masters have not only acquired the necessary specialist knowledge, they are now also in a position to train their future offspring and pass on their knowledge, which is particularly important in today's world.
But how can you even become a master? In order to be admitted to the master's examination, certain requirements must be met. This includes a completed examination in the profession of farmer or a related profession as well as professional experience. You can also take the exam without any training and with at least five years of professional experience in agriculture. Chamber of Agriculture provides the necessary information.
Preparation and costs
Preparation for the master's examination often takes place via the technical college for agricultural economics. The necessary knowledge is imparted there through face-to-face and online lessons, although participation is not mandatory. Funding the exam can be challenging; Admission to the master's examination costs around 393 euros, while the actual examination costs 1240 euros. So if you have a good hand in agriculture, you should also keep the financial aspects under control.
A good master should also be able to take on complex tasks on a farm responsibly and independently. [DQR].
Many doors are now open for the newly minted masters, be it in their own agriculture or in the training of future generations. The future of agriculture looks bright – thanks to these committed and well-trained specialists.
