Ostalbkreis launches startup platform: New opportunities for start-ups!
A lot is happening in the Ostalbkreis when it comes to supporting start-ups. A new cooperation agreement between the city of Schwäbisch Gmünd, Aalen University, the Schwäbisch Gmünd University of Design (HfG), the Schwäbisch Gmünd University of Education and the fem research institute brings a breath of fresh air to the region's start-up culture. The in:it co-working lab, which has acted as a central contact point for start-ups since 2018, takes on a coordinating role. What is particularly noteworthy is that the cooperation promotes technology and knowledge-based start-ups through joint events and workshops.
Promoting innovation for the region
The research institute fem brings significant know-how to the area of technology-oriented start-ups and relies on the INC’BEAT innovation ecosystem. The University of Education, in turn, contributes a creative laboratory called “Creative Hall Assisted Living”, which promotes digital innovations in the health and care sector.
In addition, the School of Design supports creative and design-oriented start-up ideas. Aalen University also has a lot of experience in supporting technology-oriented start-ups through its INNO-Z Incubator and INNO-Z AAccelerator initiatives. This concentrated expertise is intended to strengthen the start-up dynamic in Schwäbisch Gmünd and the entire Ostalbkreis and to support young talent and innovative ideas.
Network for women entrepreneurs
Another exciting aspect is the new female founder network Ostalb, which is to be initiated on International Women's Day 2024. This is a collaboration between the Ostalbkreis Women and Work Contact Point and the in:it co-working lab Schwäbisch Gmünd. The aim of this network is to support women in setting up their own businesses and to strengthen exchanges between them Woman and job reported.
The network not only wants to make inspiring stories of female founders visible, but also offer support in the form of expert knowledge and information on start-up-specific topics. Around eight events a year are planned that enable networking and strategic exchange. The kick-off event will take place on March 21st and will be offered online.
