EV Ravensburg continues to fight: defeats and hope for a turnaround!

EV Ravensburg is deep in crisis and has another important game this Friday at 8 p.m. in the CHG Arena against SC Forst. After losing two games in a row, including a 3:5 defeat against SC Forst and another disappointing 2:6 home defeat against Ottobrunn, the gap to the coveted play-off places is now eight points. This situation makes the upcoming game a real game of fate for the Ravensburgers. How Schwäbische.de reports, the team will be under pressure to rehabilitate themselves and finally collect points again.

In the last game against Ottobrunn, things started promisingly from the EVR's point of view, but after a goal for the opponents in the fifth minute through a counterattack, which was quickly expanded to 2-0, Ravensburg remained on the defensive. It is interesting that in the first third several hits against the crossbar and post made the spectators sit up and take notice, but no goal was scored for Ravensburger. Maxim Kessler reduced the score to 1:2 in the 29th minute, but the further development of the game didn't bode well. One serious mistake in particular led to the final score being 2:5, and the frustration runs deep among players and fans.

Challenge against forest

The game against Forst offers a fair chance for revenge. EVR also had to admit defeat in an earlier meeting this season. In the 18th minute, the Forsters were already leading 3-1 in this game, but the EVR equalized in the second third with two goals from Mezler and Ilya Katjuschenko. However, the decisive 4:3 came in the 51st minute and the Ravensburgers ultimately had to admit defeat 5:3. The consistency that would be necessary for success is currently simply missing. However, there was a ray of hope at the start of the season: The 1b of the EVR celebrated a successful start to the national league with a 4-1 win against the same opponent. A good omen for the main team?

In this game, 1b showed the ability to master pressure situations, even if they were in trouble with four penalties in the final minutes. Perhaps also an indication of the identity and character of the club. A strong goalie game from David Zvejnieks stood out as he successfully fended off Forster's attacks. The offensive was only decisive thanks to goals from Oleg Gettinger and Steffen Kirsch, who converted a penalty, and Robin Böhm. But even under pressure, the EVR has to keep its nerve on Friday!

The next steps

The Ravensburgers now urgently need to find their form in order not to be further removed from the play-off places. The coming games will be crucial: On Friday the EVR will play against SC Reichersbeuern in Bad Tölz, followed by a home game against Wanderers Germering on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. Ravensburg Tower Stars In view, it remains to be hoped that the EVR can transfer the momentum of 1b to the main team.
