Next Sunday, September 21, 2025, the Swabian Forest will celebrate a very special event: the 25th Swabian Forest Day. At this annual event, organized by the *Swabian Forest Tourism Association*, visitors can discover numerous mills, historic water wheels and workshops via a scenic hiking trail. The 37 kilometer long path connects thirteen mills and offers the opportunity to experience a piece of history up close. The Heinlesmühle in Alfdorf invites you to visit the time-honored grinding room of our ancestors with an open day from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. There are guided tours here that deal with the work of the miller and the various grinding processes in the style of the “Old German Water Mill”. This mill still retains elements from the 19th century. In the *Municipal Art Collection* in Murrhardt from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., visitors have the opportunity to admire important works by artists such as Heinrich von Hügel and Reinhard Nägele, which illustrate the connection between art and the city.
