Kärcher lets the historic outside staircase in Schwäbisch Hall shine!
Preparations for a very special event have begun in Schwäbisch Hall. Kärcher from Winnenden has decided to have the impressive staircase of St. Michael's Church cleaned. This move comes to mark the company's 90th anniversary and is part of a global project that will see 90 cleaning operations carried out in different cities around the world. An anniversary like this is really a reason to celebrate!
The outside staircase, which with its 53 steps is not only an architectural gem but also serves as a central meeting place, was built in the early 16th century and is the setting for the popular open-air plays. These spectacular performances attract numerous visitors to the city every year, and the staircase plays a central role, as zvw.de reports.
A historical pearl of the old town
Schwäbisch Hall has much more to offer than just the magnificent staircase. The city, once an important location for salt boilers, delights its visitors with an impressive cityscape characterized by partially preserved city walls, numerous towers, covered wooden bridges and medieval alleys. The market square, framed by half-timbered, Renaissance and Baroque buildings, is a gem, while the town hall stands out in the style of a Baroque aristocratic palace.
Opposite the Church of St. Michael, which is one of the city's main attractions, you can always come across charming details while strolling through the historic old town. If you want to really explore the city, you have the opportunity to take part in public city tours several times a week. Tickets for these tours are available at the Tourist Information at Hafenmarkt 3, and a brochure with a “city tour” can also be purchased there. If you prefer to travel at your own pace, the free “Xhibition App” offers a virtual city tour, ideal for anyone who wants to remain flexible while exploring.
The planned cleaning of the outside staircase is not only a sign of appreciation of the heritage, but also a great opportunity to bring the beauty of this historic city back to the fore. Kärcher is making an important contribution to preserving the venerable sites that give Schwäbisch Hall its very special charm. With the upcoming cleaning, the focus will once again be on the importance of the outside staircase as part of the cultural heritage and at the same time Kärcher's anniversary will be duly celebrated.
