Fasnet for everyone: helpers wanted for an inclusive move in Villingen!

In Villingen, the signs point to inclusion: The exciting project “Fasnet for everyone” will make the next Fasnet in 2026 accessible to people with disabilities. The initiators of the project are Felicitas Bichweiler and Jörg Westermann, who are determined to include these special people in the festive atmosphere of the carnival parade. But in order to be able to realize the project, numerous helpers are still needed.

The Villingen Zuggesellschaft as well as the Villingen Lions Club and the pub carnival from the Ratskeller are the organizers of this extraordinary event. A protected space at the side of the road should be available for people with disabilities during the parade, with trained speakers with headphones making the events understandable to the participants.

Helpers and speakers wanted

During the training, the speakers will learn to describe the procession in clear, short sentences. The project team plans to use two to three speakers who will be provided with a script that contains information about the carnival guilds. Jörg Westermann makes it clear that solutions will be found for anyone who cannot attend the training session. “There’s something going on!” he says, pointing out the urgency of mobilizing more support and helpers for this special parade.

Inclusion in focus

This project not only focuses on the participation of people with various disabilities, but also shows how much commitment and commitment there is in the community. The 2026 carnival parade represents the togetherness that everyone in Villingen and the surrounding area wants. An inclusion project like this not only requires the passion of the initiators, but also many helping hands.
