Disaster protection tag: Students learn first aid up close!

On Monday, May 25th, the seventh graders of the Luise Leininger School and the sixth graders of the Bilharzschule came together for an exciting day of action on the subject of disaster protection. The aim of this event was to give the students an insight into the important topic of first aid experiences. Organizer Johanna Mater, school coordinator of the DRK district association Sigmaringen, had put together a varied program that met with great interest and promoted the participation of the young people. According to Schwäbischer Zeitung , the feedback of the students is considered extremely positive and the DRK team received a big thanks for the implementation of the action day.

The event began with a common input about disaster protection, followed by various stations where the students were able to learn important skills in groups. This included practicing the stable side position and the creation of a pressure bandage. The information about supplies in the house was also a central part of the activities. The use of the Martinshorn, which gave the students an authentic insight into the emergency rescue, was particularly remarkable.

First aid courses: a valuable knowledge

To be able to help first aid is not only important for schoolchildren, but for all age groups and professions. The Rotkreuz course first aid , for example, is aimed at driving license applicants, first aiders in the company and everyone interested. With a duration of just one day and nine lessons, it offers the basic knowledge that is required in emergencies.

For institutions such as daycare centers or schools, there are special offers that are even free of charge. These are particularly aimed at groups such as children and families and convey security and competence in emergency situations. Another interesting format of training is the “First aid with self -protection content” , which serves to promote understanding of disaster protection and prepare the participants for emergencies.

Children can learn how to react correctly in emergency situations, while seniors can find out more about first aid in old age. Special advanced training courses for company first aiders should also not be underestimated, as they ensure that the necessary knowledge is always up to date.

to provide first aid can save lives at the crucial moment. It is therefore all the more important that the population continues to continue and is prepared for emergencies. All of this shows that the enthusiasm for knowledge about disaster protection and first aid is not only with the students during the action day, but also promoted by the diverse offers of the DRK and its partner.
