New hope: DRK moments of happiness for seriously ill people in Sigmaringen!

The cooperation partners of the “Glücksmomente” of the DRK district associations Zollernalb and Sigmaringen met in the Balingen office. The focus of the meeting was on important topics such as expanding cooperation, gaining synergies, financial questions as well as organizational and personnel aspects.
New face in the team: Tim Wagner, who now acts as deputy managing director of the DRK district association in Sigmaringen, will take responsibility for the DRK moments of happiness team in Sigmaringen. The overarching goal remains the fulfillment of the heartfelt wishes of seriously ill people, which can be done through various experiences and excursions, as Schwäbische reports.

“Moments of happiness” – this stands for important moments in life that often remain just a beautiful dream for many seriously ill people. The “Moments of Happiness” vehicle service makes it possible to realize individually tailored wishes, be it seeing your old home again, attending your granddaughter’s wedding or simply taking a relaxing trip to Lake Constance. Unusual wishes such as a sightseeing flight in a hot air balloon or a visit to an alpaca farm are also possible. These journeys take place in a specially designed ambulance, equipped with everything necessary to ensure a pleasant and safe journey.

Joint planning for individual needs

But how does the whole thing work? Those interested can first contact the team. Here a joint conversation is held to clarify personal wishes and needs. Close coordination with the relatives and an assessment by the treating doctor are also part of this process to ensure that the excursions can take place under the best conditions. The individual team of volunteers is then put together according to the health status of the person wishing to do so in order to guarantee a tailor-made experience. The entire service remains free of charge for passengers and an accompanying person, as explained on the DRK Biberach website.

The entire financing of the Glücksmomente trips comes from donations and sponsors, which underlines the importance of financial support. Donations are always welcome, and volunteers who would like to get involved in the accompaniment are always in demand. For anyone who would like to help, there is a donation account at Kreissparkasse Biberach: DE51 6545 0070 0000 0151 05 - financial contributions can be made under the reference “Moments of Happiness”.

A team with warmth

In addition to strategic decisions, the meeting in Balingen also brought with it a clear message: The Glücksmomente team, led by Nathalie Hahn and Ralf Purrucker, is ready to stand up for the heartfelt wishes of seriously ill people. Their support comes not only through professional know-how, but also through a deep empathy for the needs of those affected, which is described in detail on the DRK Sigmaringen page.

The moments of happiness are not just trips, but also a valuable opportunity to bring back the joy and quality of life and to give people special moments. For those who have a heart for this special initiative, there are many ways to get involved and support it.
