Baden-Württemberg shines: three new Michelin stars for gourmets!
The culinary landscape in Baden-Württemberg will remain a popular destination for gourmets in 2025. A total of 73 restaurants have been opened in the current one Guide Michelin listed, which remains unchanged compared to the previous year. The region has once again proven its reputation as a hotspot for star cuisine.
This year, three new restaurants can look forward to their first Michelin star. The “Kaisersaal” in the Hotel Kaiserhof in Ravensburg, the “Raro im Mühlenhof” in Schriesheim near Heidelberg and the “Hawara” in Freiburg im Breisgau are now on the list of winners. The latter restaurant was also awarded a green star for its sustainable cuisine, which is a further step towards environmentally conscious gastronomy.
Received and Rejected Stars
In Baiersbronn, a renowned center for star cuisine, the two top restaurants “Bareiss” and “Schwarzwaldstube” defend their three stars. The region’s two other restaurants, “1789” and “Schlossberg”, can also look forward to a Michelin star. With seven star restaurants, Stuttgart remains the city with the most in Baden-Württemberg, including the two-star restaurant.
Unfortunately, there were also setbacks: The two-star restaurant “Mühle” on Schluchsee was deprived of a star, and the once highly praised restaurant “SEO Küchenhandwerk” in Langenargen is no longer listed due to its closure. The “Ritzi Gourmet” in Stuttgart and the “MARKOS” in Weingarten also did not receive any new reviews because both have also closed.
The best star kitchens in Baden-Württemberg
The high density of excellent restaurants shows how much Baden-Württemberg is valued in the German gastronomy scene. The list of the best star kitchens includes not only classic kitchens, but also innovative approaches:
- Bareiss, Baiersbronn – 3 Sterne
- Schwarzwaldstube, Baiersbronn – 3 Sterne
- Ösch Noir, Donaueschingen – 2 Sterne
- Ophelia, Konstanz – 2 Sterne
- Speisemeisterei, Stuttgart – 2 Sterne
Particularly noteworthy is chef Claus-Peter Lumpp from “Bareiss”, who received the “Mentor Chef” award for his outstanding work. This underlines his commitment to promoting young talent in the catering industry.
With these new and proven awards, Baden-Württemberg shows that it is not only a place for exquisite cuisine, but also a musical interplay of tradition and innovation in gastronomy that delights both locals and visitors. The SWR also emphasizes that the Michelin stars have been awarded since 1926 and stand for culinary excellence.
The star cuisine in Baden-Württemberg has lost none of its fascination in 2025. Food lovers should therefore not miss a visit to these excellent restaurants.
