TSG Tübingen receives a quality seal for exemplary child protection!

Loud rtf1.de This award was presented by the Tübingen district after the TSG presented a successful implementation of its prevention concept. Particularly noteworthy is the TSG's child protection concept called “Look, Consider, Act”, which aims to detect and prevent border crossings at an early stage, both physically and psychologically.

But what exactly does this mean for those responsible and volunteers in the sports clubs? The Tübingen sports district informs that with the entry into force of the Federal Child Protection Act on January 1, 2012, additional requirements were placed on child and youth work. Volunteers are required to present an extended police clearance certificate under certain conditions. This regulation, anchored in Section 72a SGB VIII, is intended to ensure that people with relevant convictions cannot work with children and young people.

Protection concepts in sport

These agreements regulate the process for creating the protection concepts and the submission of the extended certificates of good conduct. Sportkreis Tübingen offers valuable support to reduce the administrative workload for volunteers. A first information evening for those responsible took place in May 2019.

The need for effective protection concepts is also underlined by Kindernothilfe, which emphasizes that children have a fundamental right to a non-violent and safe environment, especially in sport. Loud kindernothilfe.de Specially adapted concepts are intended to help prevent violence and offer children a safe training environment.

Together for child protection

  • Schulung von Trainern und Betreuern zur frühzeitigen Risikoerkennung
  • Handlungsanweisungen im Verdachtsfall

What is particularly noteworthy is the active involvement of children and young people in the creation of these protection concepts. Their experiences and opinions are crucial to creating a system that meets their real needs. TSG Tübingen, which has now been awarded the quality seal, is setting a positive example. This commitment not only points out the clubs' responsibility, but also actively works to create an environment in which children and young people can go onto the field without fear.
