New restaurant Avinci in Gunningen: A dream comes true!
Gunningen, a small but lively town, has recently seen a welcome change in the dining scene. Avni Shota, an experienced restaurateur with over 25 years of professional experience, has opened his new restaurant, Pizzeria Avinci, here. Despite the current difficult times for the catering industry, Shota took the step and is now organizing his own restaurant , reported the Swabian.
Before the pizzeria opened, the former “Rößle” inn lay idle for some time, which was a real loss for the community. Mayor Steffen Haller emphasizes how important a functioning restaurant is for the well-being and community in the town. After two interested parties dropped out, Avni Shota was the third who wanted to give the restaurant a new chance. “I saw the ad in the spring and was immediately interested,” he says.
Family business with passion
Avinci's concept is based on Italian-German cuisine that is intended to appeal to both locals and visitors. Shota is supported by his family. Daughter Elisa (17) brings a breath of fresh air to the service and son Alwin (28) delights guests with homemade pizzas from the wood-fired oven. A family business through and through, as the family also lives in the apartment above the restaurant, which helped Shota a lot when deciding to rent.
A successful start
The pizzeria opened on October 11th and the first few weeks were promising. The seats in his restaurant are particularly popular in the evening, which makes Shota and his family very happy. The menu offers classics such as farmer's salad, pasta, Jägerschnitzel and tiramisu and has already found many fans. The restaurant has around 100 seats and is open except Mondays from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Shota made a significant initial investment in the establishment's furnishings. This includes not only microwaves and coffee machines, but also glasses and cutlery. Minor repairs were also carried out by the community, which made the opening easier. The lease, which initially runs for one year, has the option of automatic extension, giving Shota further leeway.
As you can see, it is still possible to break into the restaurant industry, even when times are challenging. Where passion meets tradition, one can only hope for good success.
