On Saturday evening, August 10, 2025, a serious traffic accident occurred on State Road 2023 near Pfuhl, which caused serious injuries to a 22-year-old motorcyclist. The young man was traveling on his motorcycle towards Burlafingen when he overtook two cars. In an unfortunate moment, an overtaken car wanted to turn left onto a dirt road and got into a serious collision with the motorcyclist.
The motorcycle crashed head-on into the left side of the turning car. The force of the impact was so strong that the motorcycle was thrown past the vehicle and finally came to rest in the adjacent grass verge. The visual effect was also terrible: the front wheel of the motorcycle was torn off and remained on a bike path, while both vehicles sustained significant damage. The Pfuhl and Neu-Ulm fire departments had to close Leipheimer Straße for the rescue efforts. Thanks to the quick response of the emergency doctor and rescue service, the seriously injured motorcyclist was immediately taken to hospital.
