Day care for seniors: New life in the Aichach sports store!
The former Anneser sports store on the Unteren Stadtplatz in Aichach is being transformed into a senior day care facility. This move, recently approved by the City Council's Building Committee, is an important milestone for the city and is unanimously welcomed by city councilors. Mayor Klaus Habermann has emphasized how urgently such places are needed to improve the quality of life of the older population. It is a step that takes the pressure off many relatives as the need for care places increases.
The new day care facility, which is operated by the “Mobile Engel” nursing service from Altomünster, will offer around 35 places. In concrete terms, this means that people in need of care have the opportunity to be in company during the day - far away from the isolation that many experience in their own home. This offer is particularly helpful for people for whom home care is not possible but inpatient care is not yet necessary. This means that relatives can pursue their jobs while the seniors are cared for in a safe and attractive environment.
A well thought out concept
The design of the new facility includes more than just care spaces. Relaxation and lounge rooms as well as fitness facilities for active seniors are planned in the basement. This makes it possible for mobile seniors to find a place where they can feel comfortable and stay active. An additional living area creates a homely atmosphere that makes your stay as pleasant as possible.
As far as spatial requirements are concerned, the location is well chosen. No additional parking spaces are required, which simplifies logistics and allows relatives to drop off and pick up seniors easily. The stay in day care can last up to eight hours, which is a real relief for many relatives.
