Christmas Cup in Aichach: Football festival with tradition and top teams!

The countdown is running! On Boxing Day, December 26, 2025, the now 31st BC Aichach Christmas Cup will kick off in the sports hall at the Aichach high school. It starts at 4 p.m. and there is great anticipation for an exciting tournament. The event has become a real highlight of the regional football calendar since its inception in 1990, offering the quality and spectacle that is a must for every football fan. The tournament did not take place between 2014 to 2017 and 2020 to 2022, but now it is back and stronger than ever, like [Augsburger General](https://www.augsburger- Allgemeine.de/aichach/sport/fussball-im-landkreis-aichach-friedberg-am-26-12-tsv-1860-muenchen-sv-mering-und-bc-aichach-113033683) reported.

This year, spectators can look forward to a top-class field of participants. In addition to the host BC Aichach, the record winners TSV Aindling, the three first-place teams in the North District League - TSV Meitingen, TSV Haunstetten and TSV Gersthofen - as well as SV Mering and FC Affing will also be in action. TSV 1860 Munich attracts particular attention with a mixed team made up of the third and fourth teams. Spectators can look forward to this exciting mix, which co-organizer Klaus Ratzeck has described as particularly sporty, as Donaukurier reports.

A tournament with tradition

The Christmas Cup has a long-standing tradition that has existed for over 30 years. One of the unique features are the wraparound boards and larger goals that give the tournament a special touch. In previous years, around 420 spectators have attended the event, and the organizers ask for active participation in order to remain true to this tradition.

For Maximilian Merwald, player-coach of BC Rinnenthal, the event is more than just a sporting meeting. He describes it as a wonderful opportunity to sit down together, drink a beer and meet old friends from various clubs. This conviviality is underlined by the special atmosphere in the hall.

The tournament schedule

The teams are expected to compete in a group stage, followed by a quarter-final and a semi-final. The best teams play for a place in the final, and there is also a place for the game for third place. This structure promises exciting and gripping encounters.

In addition, the final round of the Augsburg city and Aichach-Friedberg district championships will take place one day after the Christmas tournament, on December 27th. We have an unforgettable football weekend ahead of us!
