A special event is coming up: The Hessian motorcycle group “Jesus Bikers” has set out to make history with their next stay in Rome. On August 31, 2025, the “Peace Ride Rome II” starts from Schaafheim in southern Hesse, via the holy sites in Altötting and Verona, to St. Peter's Square in Rome. The group led by Dr. Thomas Draxler, the founder and prominent face of the Jesus Bikers, has the motto: “Bringing faith to the streets”.
After a first successful Peace Ride, which presented Pope Francis with a signed Harley Davidson in 2019, the aim of the current trip is to present Pope Leo XIV with a converted motorcycle. This audience will take place in Rome on September 3, 2025. The bikers not only prepared to present their own motorcycle at the handover, but also had a special habit made for the Pope. Unfortunately, the Pope is not allowed to keep the motorcycle; it will be auctioned off and the proceeds will benefit a children's aid project in Madagascar that helps starving children in South Sudan, as augenblickmalonline.de reports.

The Jesus Bikers, an association of Christians with different beliefs, have set themselves the goal of doing good and spreading the Christian faith in unconventional ways. “Praying and biking are closely linked,” Draxler encourages members and interested parties. These should then be handed over directly to Pope Leo in order to establish a connection between the biker community and the Vatican.
The upcoming stops of the Peace Ride are not just spiritual highlights; They also offer the opportunity to take part in the trip directly and to bring letters to the Pope.
